The Santa Fe General Store was established resulting from years of asking myself the question…."How can I add value to the lives of others? How can I use the knowledge and skills I have gained to benefit others? And how can I do this through a self supporting and sustainable business?"
As far back as I can remember I have had more than a passing interest in the Spanish, Native American and Southwestern U.S. cultures. I have visited many of these communities and I am always impressed by their authentic spirit, friendliness, rich history, intriguing cultures and respective talents.
It seemed natural that I should establish a store that specializes in the marketing and distribution of the products crafted by people from these lands. This would add value to my customers by acquiring beautiful, authentic and unique products for yourself and your home. By including historical and educational links, you have the opportunity to learn more of these people and their heritage. And for each product sold you help to improve the life of the people crafting the products sold at The Santa Fe General Store.
The products come from Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and the Southwestern United States. Most products are hand made using natural products. Examples include pottery, artifacts, blankets, apparel, wall Hangings, handbags and more. My task is to seek out and find unique items from these lands that are not easily obtained otherwise. I pay fair prices to the artisans and families crafting the products and refuse to carry items where unethical labor practices are suspected or proven.
